THE PROBLEM OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF TEACHERS IN WORKS OF JAMES CELLI
Abstract. This article analyzes the work of British scientist end of XIX century - James Sully. Psychological and pedagogical ideas of the scientist were of great importance in promoting psychological and pedagogical knowledge. Time of publication of his work coincided with the period of formation of the English teaching system, where primary education is rapidly moving forward, and a wide network of teacher training colleges that prepared teachers for primary schools, required textbooks for children, age and educational psychology. Trudy James Sully had great practical importance for the development of child psychology, educational psychology, and pedology.
