EGOISM TOGETHER WITH ALTRUISM: THE COLLAPSE OF THE MORAL MISTAKES
Abstract. The article regards the results of the conducted longitudinal ESM-investigations, in which the primary hypotheses of the researcher were not confirmed. Moreover, they have seriously influenced the author’s worldview and his moral judgments. In particular, the predominance of the egoism scores over the altruism ones, as well as the positive correlations between the scores of the egoistic and the altruistic scales, which have been discovered among all the participants, require the revision of the negative moral connotations, used in the meaning of egoism by default.
Key words: altruism, morality, experience sampling methods, egoism.
