COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF VARIANTS OF THE PICTURE «ACROBAT FAMILY» BY G. DORÉ (CONCEPTS, 1853, 1874). EARTH DARKNESS AND INFERNAL LIGHT IN THE LATE ROMANTICISM CONTEXT
Abstract. This article is devoted to the study of the semantics of painting by G. Dure, using the example of two variants of the painting «Acrobat Family». The course of the study is based on the Jungian and semantic types of analysis of concepts developed in 1853 and 1874. influenced by such trends as historical painting, romanticism and symbolism. Methodically, we turn to the studies of the classics of psychoanalysis and analytical psychology, in particular, to the works of K.G. Jung. The main results show a unique experience of interpreting the captured episode of the life of a French family of the XIX century, which turned out to be on the threshold of human existence. Both versions of the picture show the tragedy in the life of circus performers, but from different points of view. The first version reveals the tragedy of the mother in dark colors, from the standpoint of romanticism. The second version is based on the synthesis of romanticism and symbolism, by contrasting bright colors and emotional background.
